Rebecca Cherry BSc(Hons) BVetMed MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon

Rebecca graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2023 and joined the Chestnuts team shortly after finishing her studies.

Prior to her veterinary medicine studies, Rebecca completed a Bachelor’s degree in Bioveterinary Sciences, during which she enjoyed developing her laboratory skills. This culminated in a project investigating the effects of gastrointestinal worms on the types of bacteria present in the gut of wood mice

Following this, Rebecca completed two research projects during her Veterinary Medicine degree: the first investigated the factors affecting Giardia infection in dogs and the second determined how the architecture of the right side of the heart is affected in dogs with the cardiac conditions pulmonic stenosis and pulmonary hypertension.

Rebecca enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a keen interest in cardiology. She is looking forward to getting to know all the clients at the practice and working with them to provide the best care for their pets.

During her free time, Rebecca is a keen accordionist, being an active member of the UK’s top accordion orchestra. She also enjoys singing with her gospel choir alongside members of her local church, baking cakes and spoiling her pets: Alfie the lurcher, Tommy the cat and rabbits Poppy and Peaches.
