Cathy qualified from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, in 1989. After a few years working in general practice, she worked and travelled abroad for a year before returning to the RVC to undertake a dermatology residency, gaining the RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology, and being appointed a RCVS-recognised specialist in veterinary dermatology in 1997. Cathy has lectured nationally and internationally on her subject and is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She holds regular specialist dermatology clinics at Chestnut Vets in Ware, in addition to several other surgeries in the Herts and Essex area. Pet owners wishing to consult with Cathy can ask their primary vet to refer them, or they can self-refer via her website (see below). Cathy also offers a video consulting service, which allows clients from anywhere in the UK to consult with her directly, and to show her their pet's skin lesions via their smartphone.
